Old shit out, new stuff in – changing break disks

BlackPearl has had her last surgery in my garage. The front disks were a bit warped, probably due to previous owner trying to start with disk lock engaged. I could feel the front break pulsating like a shoddy old ABS system. This I did not notice until I had replaced the old break calipers and rubber hoses with some proper stuff. . So got rid of the old disks and replaced them with brand new ones. Always good price and FAST service at Bike Line by the way. The competition in Helsingborg wanted 1800 SEK for ONE disk (…duh…), Bike Line offered me 1200 SEK for both. Done deal !!

The power to stop this monster of a ship is finally there but I had to grind down the salt deposits on the rim left by the old disk rotors before smooth breaking operation was restored.
Here is what the project looked like;

Removing the old front disk
Removing the old front disk
Fitting the new front disk
Look at all that new metal – I love the gyro effect !! Means I can sail straight through stormy waters and never worry about swaying 🙂
Front disks mounted, wheel almost in place
Front disks mounted, wheel almost in place
front disk breaks
Everything in place and power to STOP!!

Slow down, capture the moment. The whole thing about riding motorbikes is to enjoy the moment, chill out, enjoy with friends, see nice things and have fun. Be good, do good and good things will come to you.
