Oh man – this must be the longest winter ever recorded in the history of the universe!!! I bet even the goblins on Mars don’t have to wait this long for spring to arrive so they can get out on their goblin-dirt-bikes and ride the sweet dunes. So while the “silly season” is in full swing I have to admit that there are some things happening in the man hut (=my garage). Even though the hut is small and very cramped with all kinds of shit that someone (what, me???) have stuffed in there –  I have initiated a little project with the Sportster.

The plan is to turn it in to a 70’s-style chopper by adding a high and mighty sissy bar featuring a dagger on top, a mini ape hanger with a small rubber-ball-horn, a king & queen saddle, forward foot pegs and some other trinkets.

However, all the original wires and cables are way too short for the ape hanger so I have been searching the web for the right stuff. Did not find any wiring loom kit so I have to cut and extend the originals… Some other ordeal with the clutch cable where I probably need to drain the engine oil and the gas and idle wire where I need to remove the gas tank… So far I have not found the motivation (or enough beer) to start this project so all the stuff is just floating around the bike and I have started to dismount the original handlebar. I promise to add pictures from this project.
