Have you ever tried to order bike stuff from the Internet ?

Browsing the sweet and seductive motorbike websites for spare parts you can easily get lost in the magic adventure land between what you need and what you want. After a few hours worth of surfing the borderline of what you really, really need seem to have moved and I don’t mean by an inch but rather by several hundred dollars. Why would that be – well, as all my friends know I never use my brain when shopping for motorbikes or bike parts. It’s just a natural instinct that takes over which goes hundreds of thousands of years back until the very first caveman built his very first MotoGP bike. This instinct to be cool, to have the right stuff, to pose, to impress , to enjoy, to feel the rush, to be really silly, to do something crazy, to chill out, to…well, you know all those things that make up a real man, this instinct is what takes control and rush you off to that magic place in your mind where everything is still possible.

The rush only last so long and then you start to slide down but not fast enough for things to actually hurt PROVIDED that you get your hands on some of that cool stuff you just bought. So when you buy from the Internet it takes a while for the stuff to haul itself from USA to Sweden but thanks to modern technology (airplanes) things go pretty fast anyway. That is unless some tosser at a shipping point decides to claim tax in advance to delivery. Normally you get the stuff, get an invoice a few days later, pay up and happy as you go. But payment in advance screw all that up. You loose the momentum, you have to pay more without even getting the merchandise, and delivery is delayed because OF COURSE I GOT THE TAX NOTICE LATE FRIDAY EVENING WHEN EVERYTHING IS CLOSED FOR THE WEEKEND !!!!!

I am not saying I am frustrated or generally pissed off, oh no. Instead I have challenged myself and realized that I get the opportunity to keep dreaming a few more days with even less money in my pocket thanks to a diligent and faithful employee of the shipping company. What a lucky guy I am !!!

Slow down, capture the moment. The whole thing about riding motorbikes is to enjoy the moment, chill out, enjoy with friends, see nice things and have fun. Be good, do good and good things will come to you.
